At Connection, we care, in fact we care a lot. We look back and see where we were some years ago before the environment was not at the forefront of commercial minds, and honestly, we now wonder what we were doing! We feel we have come a long way, being the first manufacturer to produce a 100% recyclable chair. We started setting ourselves annual objectives and have continually improved on these – year on year.

We are certified to ISO14001, have worked to achieve our FSC and PEFC certification. We have scored ourselves “Good” with the online BREEAM and are working towards very good. In 2010 we have set ourselves targets to improve on these awards.
We have put together a new environmental policy. There are many key elements to this. Here are just some of them:

Consider our waste stream carefully recycling as much as possible with current technology

• We measure, record and limit waste at all levels and dispose of it correctly
• Use recycled content and local sustainable materials wherever possible
• Measure and record our energy usage, emissions to reduce these annually
• Am to produce life cycle analysis of products
• Partner other green companies
• Source our components within the UK and failing that, within the EU
